INSTRUCTION:
1. This is a group assignment.
2. The deadline for submission is in Week 12 (16/12-20/12/2024).
PROGRAM OUTCOME:

COURSE OUTCOMES:
CLO2: Describe the concepts and appropriate methods of financial accounting in daily business
transactions (A1, PLO7)
GUIDELINE:
1. Students are required to form a group. Each group shall consist of FOUR (4) students.
2. Instruction:
PART A: Presentation 10% (video)
Objective:
To recap on the steps required in the preparation of business financial recording and reporting. Prepare a maximum of 10 minutes video (using slides or proper mind mapping) explaining a general process of reporting business transactions from journal entries, ledger entries, trial balance until the preparation of financial statements). For this part students are NOT REQUIRED to show a completion of question. Just provide general simple example of each step. Each group member must take parts in presenting the information as there will be marks for individual presentation. Small video of presenter presenting should be included together on the screen with the material used to explain.
You may refer the attached video from a different subject/topic produced by former students as an example of the expected PART A video.

ASSESSSMENT: For this Part A, each group will be assessed using rubrics attached.
PART B: Business financial report
Each group need to create a dummy SOLE PROPRIETOR trading business of finished goods (no need to process further to sell).
CONTENT OF THE REPORTS:
1) Introduction: (maximum of 2 pages)
• Explain on sole proprietorship type of business
• Explain on the chosen trading business.
• Source of funding and the capital required to initiate the business.
• The non-current assets required
• The description of inventories of your business, the cost per unit.
• Selling price of your chosen product.
• The chosen premise: Rented or own premise.
2) Main content: The business financial report:
i) Create 20 business transactions, which should include the followings:
• Capital / Loan Acquisition
• Acquisition of non-current assets
• Expenses
• Cash sales / Credit sales
• Cash purchase/credit purchase
• Cash discount/trade discount
• Return inwards
• Return outwards
• Accrual / prepayments
• Depreciation

ASSESSSMENT:
For this part each group will be assessed using rubric and customized answer scheme
according to the 20 business transactions created until complete financial statements.
3) Conclusion: (ONE PAGE ONLY)
o Conclude the business performance which have been conducted (based on your financial report).
o What are the TWO (2) main factors which determine the profitability and
performance of small business entity.
o Provide TWO (2) benefits of the accounting records/ reports to business owner namely from the preparation of Part A and Part B of the assignment 2.

• The report should be written in font size 11 with 1.5 spacing and justified.
• The cover page is BLUE color.
• Use the provided front cover only.
• Include page number at the bottom right of the page.
• Prepare table of content.
• Include the rubric given for this assignment.
• The assignment shall be staple bind.
• Arrange your report in the following sequence:
i. Cover page
ii. Checklist given (tick)
iii. Table of content
iv. Body of the report.
