Overview In this assignment, students will explore the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enhancing business decision-making processes. The assignment requires a comprehensive report, a presentation, and a recorded video presentation to be submitted on the BLMS platform.
Assignment Components Group Formation Form groups of 3 to 5 students. Each group should select a business sector (e.g., finance, healthcare, retail, manufacturing) where AI can be applied to support decision-making. Research and Analysis Conduct research on the current state of AI in decision-making within the selected sector. Identify specific business decisions that could benefit from AI support (e.g., investment decisions, customer segmentation, supply chain management).
Analyze the benefits and challenges of integrating AI into these decision-making processes. Explore existing AI tools and technologies that can be utilized for decision-making. Framework/Model Development Develop a framework or model illustrating how AI can be integrated into the decision-making process of the chosen sector. The model should include: Decision Points: Identify specific decision points where AI can play a role. AI Integration: Explain how AI will be integrated into the decision-making process. Data Requirements: Outline the data needed for AI to function effectively.
Expected Outcomes: Predict the impact of AI on decision quality and business performance. Discuss the ethical considerations, potential biases, and limitations of using AI in decision-making. Report Writing Compile your findings and framework/model into a detailed report (8-12 pages).
The report should include:
- Introduction: Overview of AI in decision-making and the chosen sector.
- Research Findings: Current use of AI in decision-making within the sector.
- Framework/Model: Detailed explanation of the proposed AI-based decision-making model.
- Analysis: Benefits, challenges, and implications of the model. Conclusion: Summarize key findings and suggest future developments. Include references to academic journals, industry reports, and other credible sources.
Presentation Design Design a presentation (10-15 slides) that summarizes the key points of your report. The presentation should be clear, concise, and visually appealing, with appropriate use of graphics, charts, and diagrams. Ensure that each group member contributes to the presentation design. Video Recording Record a 15-20 minute video presentation where each group member presents a portion of the content. The video should be professional, with each member speaking clearly and confidently. Use screen sharing to showcase the slides, and ensure that each slide is discussed in detail.
Submission Submit the following items to the BLMS platform:
